"I think of my paintings as an entryway into inner spaces where a visual language of forms and symbols appear, bringing forth a tender understanding of some deeper meaning I can’t articulate through speech. There is a tension between the tangible and psychic nature of painting that I find almost magical, and through the act of painting I am trying to discover a visual language of personal grief, compassion and sentiment."
